She's Not Like Other Girls

Preparations go awry

March 28, 2008

To prepare for my trip to Canada I thought I would indulge myself in their arts scene and, last Friday, watched Celine in Las Vegas on DVD. That was really to get me in the mood for this Friday (tonight) when Jesse and I had tickets to go to her concert here in Sydney! Unfortunately she got a throat infection and rescheduled to the 5th, when I will be in her home country. I have decided that Celine is to Canada, as Kylie is to Australia.

A little lip liner wouldn't have gone astray!

I still think a little lip liner would have been nice!

March 28, 2008

Wigs By Vanity is excited to introduce the Über Riah  Showgirl collection designed by Vanity Faire & Courtney Act. These wigs have been specifically designed and manufactured to be the ultimate theatrical wig (perfect for drag). They are hand-knotted french lace front to recreate a natural hair-line. Check out this fun video commercial and WigsByVanity.com for more details!

G’Day Vancouver!

March 26, 2008

Vancouvereenies come along to Celebrities on Thursday the 3rd of April (next thursday) for G’day Vancouver’s Surfs Up Sydney Foam Party! You can get your tickets from Little Sisters prior to the event or on the door! There is also the chance to win a trip for two to Sydney Australia! I am still in Australia where it is a pleasant 24 Degrees! I am perplexed by the Surf’s Up theme and the near freezing temperatures you are currently having…. but i survived New York in late November in a piece of beader tule and open toes shoes… I’m a survivor… just like Beyonce!Check out AustraliaWeek.ca for more details!  P.S. Dear Canada, I love that we share the same initials! I heart CA too!

Loves: Danny Noriega

March 11, 2008

So I just discovered Danny Noriega (American Idol). I was so excited when watching him on YouTube! He is a breath of fresh air. He is no doubt an inspiration to so many young American boys. I was totally devastated when I got to the vid of him being booted off the show. I went to the American Idol website to have a look around when I spied this poll:

Danny Noriega Poll from AmericanIdol.com

Fingers crossed the producers pay attention to the results. Here is a vid of him performing ‘Jail House Rock’.

What About This - Reclaim The Right Vigil

March 7, 2008

What About This -Reclaim the Right

So a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of performing at the Reclaim The Right Vigil here in Sydney. The Vigil came about due to all of the violence and attacks that have been occurring around Oxford St of late. It was a brilliant day where the community came together with great speakers, hosts, entertainers, a fantastic crowd and beautiful weather. Steph Sands and Maxi Shield hosted the day and speakers included Clover Moore, Adrian Loveny , Shayne Mallard and Shelly Dahl. Shauna Jensen, The Homotones and myself provided the entertainment.

I decided to perform an original track called ‘What About Me’ which I wrote last year after I was a victim of homophobic violence. It was very empowering performing an original track of this nature at such a relevant event. Thank you to Mark Chapman for backing me up on the Acoustic Guitar! Let me know what you think of the track by leaving a comment below!
